Introducing Grandma's Doilies & Old Friends

 Today over at the JustRite Blog I am introducing 2 New JustRite Original Sets - Grandma's Doilies and Old Friends that are designed to coordinate with yesterday's release set Lace Borders. 

 

For my first card I used Memento Markers and the direct to rubber technique to color my image.  Then I used Copic Markers to color the center of the image.

Introducing Kindness Stamps to coordinate with the new Spellbinders Labels Twenty Dies

Tonight on the JustRite Blog I am revealing our 3rd Cling set that coordinates with some of the new Spellbinders Dies released over the last 8 days.  My favorite flowers are Blue Hydrangeas so I am absolutely in love with this new Blue Hydrangea Paper in the Tim Coffey Cottage Garden- K&Company 12 x 12 Stack.

Introducing JustRite Cling- Hangin' Around

 

 
 I am so excited to share with you my exciting news!!  JustRite is introducing a new line of Rubber Stamps.  JustRite Cling is Deeply Etched Red Rubber Made in the USA!!

 

 The New Cling Stamps come with this gorgeous storage panel which fits in our new JustRite Mini binder which will store 4 storage panels.

I had so much fun designing my first cards with the first cling set that we are introducing this week.
This set is named Hangin' Around.

  

 The backgound papers were all designed using images from Hangin' Around.

 

I had so much fun crochet on the edge of my ornament for last weeks blok hop that I decided to try a new pattern on this card.  This time I used die   of the Spellbinders Eyelet Nestabilites to crochet on the edge.  For this pattern -- slip stich into the first hole.  Chain 3 and slip stictch into the next hole.  For the corners which do no have holes in this size die - I chained 6 and slip stiched into the next hole.  This gave my card design a loose lacy feel.

  

This is how I started my background paper.  I used the design of the paper to create a grid to stamp my pumpkin image on.

 

This is what it looked like after I colored it.  This would make a great background paper for a scrapbook page too!!

 

 Here is a closeup of the scarecrow image-- I just love Spellbinders Labels Ten -- it's a fun way to change up an oval image and make it fresh.

Here's a sneak peek of one of the dies from the JB 08955 JustRite Nested Sentiment Die set.  More details will be revealed about these dies over the next few weeks.  They are of course - custom dies manufactured by Spellbinders for Exclusive sale by JustRite.

Gala Glitz Nested Poinsettia Treat Wrap

Today I am sharing with you my Nested Poinsettia Treat Wraps.  The Basic Happy Holiday Poinsettia Treat wrap bag instructions can be found on the JustRite Website under featured projects.  Now as you may remember I have been playing with Gala Glitz lately and I just couldn't resist making a version of this treat wrap with the Gala Glitz Red.  The jars of Gala Glitz are rather small ---so remember that you only need to apply the Gala Glitz on the portion of the poinsettia leaves that are going to show.
Here is a closeup so you can see just how divine the Gala Glitz is on the Poinsettia.  For the center I used one of the images from the A Merry Little Christmas set and embossed it with Ranger Super fine detailed embossing powder.  I used a versamark watermark embossing pen to highlight the scalloped edge of the stamped image in gold embossing powder. 

These are super fun and easy to make!!  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

A Tisket, A Tasket...Here is my Mom's Easter Basket

Welcome to the JustRite CHA Release #1 Blog Hop!!  Release #1 is now in stock at the JustRite Website.  Today I am sharing with you an Easter Basket that I have designed for my MOM for Easter and for Sharon Johnson's Friday Stamp Simply Incredible Edible Egg Challenge to create a project with Easter Eggs.  You can find all the details for the challenge here.

 

This whimsical little chick is the designer center from JustRite Stampers new Favorite Occasion set which is shipping to stores this week it is part of the JustRite CHA Release #2 and is now available for pre-order on the JustRite Website.   The set consists of 10 images and designer centers for all your Favorite Occasions. For this part of my project I decided to diecut the stamped image with my oval Nestabilities to give the image an Egg Shape. I used 2 mini gingham envelopes from the Martha Stewart Collection and adhered them back to back against a bamboo skewer. I painted the skewer green to match my project.  The pretty floral paper is from Making Memories.

 

I purchased this beautiful twig, moss and floral basket at the Christmas Tree shop. It is a full size basket. I placed my faux Chocolate bunny in the picture (which is the size of a real chocolate bunny) so you could see how large the basket really is.

  The basket was pretty but I knew it would be a beautiful centerpiece for my Mom's Easter Celebration once I jazzed it up with some of my favorite papercrafting supplies. Hope you like it MOM!!  First I purchased the great green gingham wide ribbon from Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  It was the perfect color and matched my mini envelopes exactly!!  Then I added two types of Martha Stewart Flowers to the foam flowers that were already on the rim of the basket when I purchased it. The first Martha Stewart flowers are pink with white centers like the flower on my mini envelope. The second flowers were white, pink and pale purple daisies with yellow centers. Once I added the flowers it instantly felt like Spring in my studio. I can't wait to see green grass!! For the center of my bow I designed an embellishment using both the Easter designer center and border together from the Favorite Occasion Set with my 1 5/8" wooden stamper.  I stamped the image with memento black. Then I colored my chicks with my Copic Markers and die cut the  stamped image this time using circle and scallop circle nestabilites.  

  

This is what the side view of the basket originally looked like.  I decided it needed a few bows added to the basket to finish off the basket.

   

Sharon carries both sizes of the green gingham ribbon that I used in her ribbon store.  I also alternated colors of bows and added a pale blue narrow gingham bows to my basket as well.

Spring Pretty Please

Everyday in my google reader I read all these great challenges and wish I had time to play along with my favorite designers and friends.  This week I decided to jump in and join in all the fun and I must say it was a blast!  Today's card is for Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Challeenge # 80.   The basic premise was there were no rules except to have fun and mix and match stripes and polka dot paper.

Now I had so much fun mix and matching that I may have overlooked the number one rule of all of Sharon's Challenges which is to Stamp Simply!!  Now Sharon I did do simple stamping ....but making the card to put the stamp image on was just too much fun.  I am sure that I played a little bit further outside of the sand box than my pals.  But please bear in mind I still have several feet of snow in my yard and I am not sure Spring is really on it's way. But I am definitely sure that spring has arrived on my card.  So if you can - could you send a little spring my way!!

Earlier this week I put out my own Challenge to everyone to make a card and then use all your scraps to make a second card.  So here is my second card....where perhaps I did follow Sharon's Rules a little more closely.  You can find all the details on how I made my second card by clicking here and going to the JustRite Blog.

 

The fun paper I used is from My Mind's Eye- Penny Lane "Feeling Groovy" paper pack which I purchased from Michele at Stampers Dream.  I am not an on line shopper, but since all the LSS in Maine are almost gone - I broke down and order paper on line.  And I love the paper I ordered!!  To create buttons in the right colors I used my Copic Markers to color my buttons and then created a Polished Stone Effect on my buttons by taking the tip of my Copic marker and dabbing up and down accross the buttons.  Don't Forget...Please Send Spring to Maine!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hi Everyone!!

I'm back and very excited to share my latest creations with you.  I apologize for the long absence and want to say Thank you to everyone who sent a get well card or get well goodies. It is amazing how time flies. I am happy to say I feel lots better and have my Mojo Back!!  First up I have to share with you my St. Patrick's Day Chinese Takeout Box.  Which I filled with Green M&M's and Get Lucky plastic coins. My son loves plastic coins and I love M&M's- any color - but I nabbed these green ones in the Easter Candy section at Walmart.

 

The stamp images are a preview of one of the stamp images from the new Favorite Occasion Stamp Set from JustRite.  It fits your 1 5/8" Stamper and ia available for pre-order here.  I created my flowers by cutting apart fabric Shamrocks I found at Big Lots and adhere them onto a cardstock circle.  The ribbon is from Creative Impressions.  If you would like to see the St. Patrick's Day Card I created for the JustRite Blog using the same stamp click here.

Halloween Just Treats Bag

 Here is a great fun way to decorate a paper bag and make a fun Trick or Treat  bag for your favorite ghost or goblin!!

I used JustRite Pre Inked Letters to stamp the Just Treats.  Here is a closeup:

No Tricks Just Treats!! and More Blog Candy Alerts!!

In the midst of posting all my JustRite Christmas Projects, JustRite was having their Stampin' Champion Contest and the projects were amazing.  I particularly liked the great Halloween projects everyone was making.  Since our kids aren't home for that Holiday, I found that I really didn't own any Halloween stamps to speak of.  So when I was out shopping I found this great stamp and sentiment from Northwood RubberStamps - that I just couldn't resist.  Even my husband got a chuckle out of the sentiment. 

I found this great paper from Making Memories that was perfect for my project.  It has a fun stripe on one side and great spider web paper on the reverse side.  I am always partial to double sided paper. The bats are made using Martha Stewarts new bat punch.  I punched out 6 bats and adhered the bodies together in pairs of two.  Next I folded up the top pair of wings to make them as 3-D as possible.  To give them even more depth, I used a versamagic watermark pen to color the bodies and then I clear embossed them.

I have certainly missed over the past few months playing with my copic markers.  So it was great fun to sit down and color this image.   I started by stamping my image on white cardstock.  After coloring in my image I found the white background was just too white for me.  Using a foam make up applicator I smooched in yellow ink in the background then I added orange ink around the edges with the make up applicator.  This gave it a warm glow.

The spider paper only comes with one spider, but in my confetti collection I found these great spiders which I added everywhere.  Since my Halloween Collection of Stamps is almost non- existence, My new JustRtite Brayton Font and my Large Harmony Rectangular Stamper came in more than handy.  This is the 95 point size. (this size font comes with only one of each letter).  I have 3 sets of Brayton font.  To get this size image - I stamped the verse in two stages.  First The " Just Tricks"  then " Just Treats".  I added a hand drawn spider web to my green paper to pull the design together.  You will be amazed and how often you will reach for your JustRite Font once you start using it.  You have any word, phrase or saying at your finger tips.

Now one of my favorite projects from the contest were the cute Test Tube Treat boxes that Lisa Somerville designed you can find her turorial here. You can find Lisa's template for this project here. Lisa Thanks for the inspiration and sharing your template.  These were so much fun to make and I decided to give mine a personal touch.  My oldest son Nick is scared of spiders.( Screaming like a girl scared).  Which seems so strange to me since I am the only girl in the house.  I am afraid of mice, bats, snakes and I am not overly fond of anything with wings flying over me or near me.  Which means the boys are always leaving plastic bugs everywhere in the hopes of scaring mom. (especially Jack).  So I thought I would design my project with Jack and Nick in mind. 

The Trick or Treat Ribbon and the Happy Halloween Ribbon are from Martha Stewart.  I just love how fab they have looked on all the projects.  I like the narrower size.  The Tag embellishment is also from here collection with a JustRite Twist.  I removed the 3-D pumpkin from its base and replaced it with a new white cardstock circle that I had stamped using my JustRite 1 5/8" wooden stamper with my small letter set.  Hint:  you will want to purchase more than one set of small letters and some additional blocks so that you can leave a few of your favorite sayings set up on your blocks.  How cool to be able to design your own stamp verbiage whenever you want!!

   

This is one of my kids favorite saying- so it seem more than fitting for their Halloween Treats.
