Welcome to Day Two of the JustRite and Faber-Castell Blog Hop. What a talented group of designers!!
I was so excited tofinally get to play with Spellbinder's new 3D Basket Weave M-bossibilities and Gelatos. These 3D embossing folders both emboss and deboss which makes them more three dimensional then any embossing folder on the market. I thought this would be the perfect way to showcase how gorgeous the gelato's are when used on dark paper.
Here's a look at my Basket Weave background in progress:
On the right hand side of my card you can see where I colored directly onto the basket weave design with my gelato. In the upper left hand corner you can see the basket weave after I rubbed the gelatos into the design and in the botton left hand corner you can see the basket weave after I applied brown gelato with the aqua pen which allowed me to quickly add depth to the debossed areas. Gelato colors for basket weave background Butterscotch (shown on the right), Gold Champagne (for highlights) Chocolate (for watercolor wash in the debossed areas) with the water brush that comes in the Gelato Gift set.
To create my center image I stamped my Seed Packet image from Seeds of Summer with Memento Peanut Brittle, Sentiments were stamped in Memento RIch Cocoa. With my Blueberry Gelato I colored a circle on a scrap of mixed media paper I and then dipped into the area with the waterbrush to pick up a faint wash of blue to watercolor in a sky background for my seed packet. To color the Marigolds quickly I stamped the image with Memento Rich Cocoa and then using the Butter Cream and Buttesrcotch Gelatos I quickly colored the marigold image and softened the colors with my finger. For the leaves I used Pistachio. Since I would be fussy cutting the flowers it was easy to color them with the gelato sticks becuase I didn't need to stay within the lines.
To add instant depth to my flowers I used the aqua brush to add the shadows into my Marigolds and leaves using Butterscotch, Brown, Tangerine ,Green Tea and Spearmint This was a quick way to color the flowers and get the depth I wanted. To color the marigolds.
