Today my card using images from our new Cling Stamp Set - Simple Blessings plus a die from our soon to be released Justrite Custom Die Program.

 

This is the same set I used for last week's Christmas Blog Hop -- you can scroll down to see last week's project if you missed it.

I loved working with this image today -- as it reminds me of how much I miss landscape painting and watching the sunset.  In our old house, we were able to enjoy sunsets from all the main rooms of the house. I always made a point when my children were young of making them watch a sunset long enough to see how dramatically it changes as the sunsets. To just stop and take ten minutes out of our day and watch how beuatiful a sunset really is.  Everytime I hear one of my boys say look at the beautiful sunset --it makes me all warm and fuzzy knowing that I have taught them to appreciate one of life's Simple Blessings - the Setting Sun. 

 

 In the winter the Sunset is dramatically a different color than in the summer.  It is beautiful shades of lavendar, gray and blue - and I tried to capture that here in my card. 

To create the sky -- I first colored the sky with B00, Then I started at the horizon line and added in BV000, and worked the two colors into the sky.  Then I layered a wash of C1 over the B00 to give it a slight gray wash. 

 

Here is a close up of one of our new double ended tear drop tags from our new Nested Sentiment Die Sets.
These tags come with a die that allows you to cut a mat layer for the double ended tear drop.

12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops - Week #7- Simple Blessings Cling

For my project this week I decide to use one of the new JustRite Cling Sets - Simple Blessings.  You are going to love the stained glass window frame in this set.  All of the sentiments in the set are designed to fit inside the stained glass frame. So for my project I decided I would beging making a set of cards that I could give away as a gift for Christmas.

 

I love how this set has friendship sentiments that you can use throughout the year as well as use this set for Christmas. 

 
Just a little teaser to let you know we will be debuting a new JustRite Custom Line of Dies .These dies are a joint venture between JustRite and Spellbinders. The first 2 sets of dies are designed to fit with Justrite's Nested Frames and Nested Sentiments and each set comes with a teardrop double ended tag that you are going to love-- it will be on your gotta have list. The stained glass frame is designed to so that it can be die cut with the new JustRite Nested Frame dies which will be available in November.

If you are a regular subscriber to my blog you may recognize my Polished Stone Paper in my project today. Just love how gorgeous this stained glass frame works with my Polished Stone Paper Line.

 

For this card -- i changed out the center image to the Live Simply verse which I die cut with a die from the new custom Nested Sentiments dies set.  Then I used a jumbo dauber with Dandelion Memento Ink to distress the edges of the sentiment.

For today's projects I used Green Tea and Raspberry Polished Stone Paper with Black ChromeKote Paper. I am currently uploading Polished Stone Paper Kits to my new Etsy Store - so stay tuned for an announcement here for when my Etsy Store goes live.  I can't wait to see what this very talented group of ladies created this week!!  To create my stained glass window I used these Copic Markers - B000,B14,Y13,YG03,RV34

Today my image is from one of the two sets we are revealing on the JustRite Blog today.   Sparky the Snowman!!   You can see my first card from the set on the JustRite Blog. 

  
To recogonize this guy?  He made his debut earlier this year in our JustRite Original Vintage Christmas Set. Now that he is a member of the family we have named him "Sparky". Here is a look a the entire Sparky the Snowman Set.

 

 

I started my card base with the an embossing folder from the Cricuit Heritage Set of 4. I Colored my image using colors from the Light Blue Quad, Yellow Green Quad, Butternut Quad.  If you haven't downloaded The JustRite Copic Sketch Collection Coloring Reference Guide you can find it here -.  I keep the JustRite Copic Reference guide handy in my studio as a reference for which Copic Markers blend well together.  I die cut Sparky using Spellbinders Nestabilities Deckled Edge Classic Ovals Lg- Die #4. The double ended tear drop tag is a sneak peek at another one of the design elements in our JustRite Custom Die Program which will be here is 5 weeks.

 
One of the cool features in these new JustRite Die Sets is a design element which allows you to mat the tear drop ends with a colored layer so your tag will really pop!!

Introducing JustRite Cling- Hangin' Around

 

 
 I am so excited to share with you my exciting news!!  JustRite is introducing a new line of Rubber Stamps.  JustRite Cling is Deeply Etched Red Rubber Made in the USA!!

 

 The New Cling Stamps come with this gorgeous storage panel which fits in our new JustRite Mini binder which will store 4 storage panels.

I had so much fun designing my first cards with the first cling set that we are introducing this week.
This set is named Hangin' Around.

  

 The backgound papers were all designed using images from Hangin' Around.

 

I had so much fun crochet on the edge of my ornament for last weeks blok hop that I decided to try a new pattern on this card.  This time I used die   of the Spellbinders Eyelet Nestabilites to crochet on the edge.  For this pattern -- slip stich into the first hole.  Chain 3 and slip stictch into the next hole.  For the corners which do no have holes in this size die - I chained 6 and slip stiched into the next hole.  This gave my card design a loose lacy feel.

  

This is how I started my background paper.  I used the design of the paper to create a grid to stamp my pumpkin image on.

 

This is what it looked like after I colored it.  This would make a great background paper for a scrapbook page too!!

 

 Here is a closeup of the scarecrow image-- I just love Spellbinders Labels Ten -- it's a fun way to change up an oval image and make it fresh.

Here's a sneak peek of one of the dies from the JB 08955 JustRite Nested Sentiment Die set.  More details will be revealed about these dies over the next few weeks.  They are of course - custom dies manufactured by Spellbinders for Exclusive sale by JustRite.

12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops - Week 5- Crocheting on the Edge

It's week 5 of our 12 weeks of Christmas Blog Hops!!  And I just need to know -have we inspired you to pull out your Christmas Stash yet?  it's so much more fun to start your Christmas Projects know while you have time to enjoy the process than waiting to the last minute!!  It sure takes the stress out of the Holiday Season.  This week we are thrilled to be joined by the Stamp Simply design team! 

 

When the first crochet flowers started popping up on cards and scrap book pages - I decided to go back to a hobby I hadn't touched in years. I made my first granny square afghan was I was in kindergarden and I suspect that it was my first true hobby.  Months ago I made several flowers but they just haven't made it to a card yet.  So when I saw the new Spellbinders Introduction of Eyelet Dies the light bulbs went off and today I final get to share with you the idea that has been rolling around in my head for weeks..

 

 
  
A project that would incorporate my love of crocheting with my love of stamping and our family tradition of only putting handmade ornaments on our Christmas Tree. I just love the result!!  I started with the Hearts Come Home Stamp set- for this ornament I decide to use the pointsetta image and play off my red mat layer. I inked the image and colored it with Copic markers.

 

  

I was so excited that the new Spellbinder's Eyelet Square Nestabilities Die  3 has perfect size holes for crocheting in!! I used size 3 crochet cotton with a 2.35 mm hook and I single crochet three stitches in each hole with a chain stitch between each hole.  On the Corners I did a single crochet, a double crochet, chain 2, a double crochet and a single crochet.  In one corner I chain stitched a loop for hanging the Ornament on my tree.
