JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops- Week 4 - Candy Stick Tags

Every Wednesday I am just amazed at the unbelievable talent that joins us for each of our Christmas Blog Hops.  By the end of each Hop - I am hearing Christmas Carols in my head!! Even if you are still enjoying the last days of summer you will want to stop by for some Holiday inspiration.  The Wednesday blog hops continue every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving,  some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps!  This week, we are being joined by a portion of the Spellbinders design team! 

 
For today's hop I am sharing with you the project I taught over the weekend in Orlando using Holiday Cheer. Just in time for your Holiday Card making -JustRite is running a sweet promotion - Buy Holiday Cheer or Witch Way to the Treats and get a free 1 3/16" stamper.  These will be perfect little Christmas gifts for teachers,friends and family.  I have a rather large family and "technically" we don't exchange gifts, but every year each of my sisters make something special for everyone. ( Homemade candy, jams or jellies). So these will be what I am making for our family gathering.  The felt tags become Christmas ornaments after you remove the candy sticks.  

 I found the Wilton candy favor sticks at Walmart in 1 LB bags (about 30 Candy Canes in a bag). To give them a fun texture I decided to use felt which I cut with my Spellbinders Dies.

 
Have you tried cutting felt with your Spellbinder's Dies yet??  You will need to experiment with felt - I found felt sold on a bolt with a tight weave worked best.  My felt was 100% acrylic and worked well.  The wool felt that I could buy locally was too thick to use with my Spellbinder's Dies.

For this weeks Christmas Card -I couldn't resist playing with one of my favorite products for Christmas-- Glitter!!  For most of the Holiday Season I shimmer with glitter from head to toe-last night was no exception!! The Sleigh image is one of the images from the Old Fashioned Christmas Set. For the design elements of my card I wanted to play off the Architectual Elements of the Spellbinders Renaissance Pendant Die &  Labels Nine Nestabilitie and my new Cuttlebug Grace's Frame Embossing folder to frame my JustRite image.

 

The Copper paper I chose for this card was very bright and shiny...to tone down the color I sprayed the diecut with Vellum Adhesive and applied crystal glitter from the Art Glitter Institute. This created a beautiful glitter frame to feature my image. Of course I am in love with these sweet glitter brads from American crafts wich I added to my card to draw your eyes to all the gorgeous embossing from the Grace's Frame Cuttlebug Folder. (my complete supply list is located at the bottom of my post).

JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops - Week 2

For my project today - I wanted to design a card with a shabby chic feel that would be fast and easy to replicate.  For my card base I used one of my new cuttlebug folders designed to coordinate with the Circuit Heritage Cartridge and embossed it on DCWV Robin #1 cardstock. Next I used an emory block and sanded the embossed area to give it a shabby chic feel.

Then I stamped the darling tiny snowflake from the Holiday Cheer set with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  I punched the image and using the same sponge dauber from last weeks blog hop project I apply tumbled glass ink to the edges of my punched out image.  By applying a second color to my dauber my colors on the dauber mixed and gave me this subtle shabby chic look. 

If you follow my blog -you know I love snowflakes and glitter!!  And some of my favorite glittered snowflakes are from Darice.  For today's card I used  2 inch glittered snowflakes.  They come 12 in a pack for $1.99 and make great embellishments. Couldn't resist adding just a little more bling -so I added star shaped rhinestones.

For my card this week I chose one of the center images from Christmas Treasureswhich is a 3 1/4" Round set, but I stamped it and die cut it using Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Ten - die 3.  Die cutting your stamped image with a different shape can give a fresh look to your stamps.  Today I was in a vintage mood andI wanted to make a Christmas Card that would be easy to replicate.  I used a sheet of Music Paper from a paper pad for my card base and to stamp my sentiment on.  I used Memento Potter's Clay Ink to stamp my sentiment and to distress the music paper using a sponge dauber.  I also distressed my Prima Flower with the same ink as well as distressing the outer edges of my holly paper.  If you started the hop here go to the JustRite Blog to start your inspiration Journey!!

JustRite Christmas Blog Hop Wednesdays begin Sept 8th

Hi Everyone - just a quick note to let you know that I am still alive just very busy behind the scenes at JustRite.  You will be blown away by what we have planned for you this Fall!!  Lots and lots of surprises!!

Starting tomorrow --- we will begin a new series on the justRite Blog called Christmas Blog Hop Wednesday!!  For the next 12 weeks every Wednesday we will be hosting a blog hop with 12 to 15 designers from your favorite design teams.  so mark your calendars and stop in every Wednesday at 9am Central on the JustRite Blog to be inspired!!  It's not too early to start your Christmas Projects now...then you will get to enjoy making those Holiday projects and take the stress out of the Holidays!!
