I can't remember the last time I made a project without using a stamped image or stamped verbiage. Probably back when I made all those paper trees and the infamous Paper Turkey. But when the ideas started to flow I just ran with it.
The inspiration came from a gift I received one of my favorite designers Jerri Kay. She made me a beautiful monogrammed card, gorgeous notecards which I am sure I could never write on and an incredible detailed original paper handbag.
When I saw this project posted on her blog - and realized it was for me I almost burst into tears. The amount of detail Jerri puts in her work is incredible - tons of intricate detail and each piece is truly a piece of art. When I received my package the projects were even more beautiful in person. I will treasure them forever and have them on display in my office as a constant source of inspiration.
Now my purse is nowhere near as intricate as Jerri's but it was definitely influenced by all her the beautiful designs as well as those of my favorite designers who I am lucky enough to have as dear friends. I am sure the Black Butterflies were definitely a Sharon Johnson influence. The black pearls on the body of my butterfly were inspired by Barb Schram. And of course when I inquired about the beautiful black fleur de lis on the card and found out they were the leftovers from a new EK Success Border Punch. I had to run to my nearest Michael's to snatch one before they were all gone. "Can you say enabled" This punch has some of the best leftovers ever!! I don't personally own the boss cut flower and beautiful vine die yet that Jerri used on her card...but it is now on my wish list!! To see the notecards she made as well as all the details on these projects please visit her blog!! You will want to spend a while looking at all her gorgeous artwork!!
Since I don't have the time to design my own purse from scratch I used my AccuCut Bag- Purse #2 (3-D). And then I just had fun!! Thanks Jerri, Sharon & Barb for the Inspiration.
